The location where BTK left a doll with a rope tied around its neck
Place of Interest in Wichita, Kansas
In January 2005, the BTK killer, Dennis Rader, left a Post Toasties Corn Flakes cereal box at this location on North Seneca Street in Wichita.
The box, which was propped up against a street sign, contained a doll that had its neck tied to a small pipe.
This was an obvious reference to 11-year-old Josephine Otero, whom Rader had hanged from a lead pipe in 1974.
The box was found after Rader sent the following postcard to KAKE-TV:
"Where: Between 69th Street North and 77th Street North, on Seneca Street. Have you or PD (police department) received #7 at Home Depot drop site. January 8th, 2005."
BTK was so eager for attention that he became impatient when two of his "drops" went undiscovered. As a result, he decided to tip the media off about their locations.
The Home Depot drop was another cereal box. Inside, there was a letter asking if he could safely use floppy discs to communicate with the police.
Where was the box found?
