In 1989, it was a gay bar called La Cage Aux Folles. These days, it is known as LaCage NiteClub.
On March 25th, 1989, Dahmer met Sears outside this establishment and then lured him back to his grandmother's house in West Allis.
That night, Dahmer drugged him, strangled him to death, and dismembered his body. He also went through the effort of preserving his skull and genitals.
When Dahmer had to serve a one-year jail sentence for sexual assault, he reportedly kept Sears' body parts in a locker at the factory where he worked.
In May 1990, he moved out of his grandmother's house and started living at the Oxford Apartments.
During the move, he decided to take Sears' remains with him.
When the authorities arrested Dahmer in July 1991, they found the missing man's skull in his closet. According to police reports, he had painted it gray.
Shortly afterwards, the coroner's office was able to identify the remains using dental records.
