The bar gained notoriety after it was revealed that serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer had picked up a number of his victims at the establishment.
Back then, it was a popular gay bar. These days, it is called the Wall Street Stock Bar.
Google Street View images show that the property was boarded up between 2005 and 2019.
On the night of September 15th, 1987, Dahmer met Steven Tuomi at the 219 Club.
After some drinks and conversation, he invited the 24-year-old back to his hotel room. When they went back to the room, he drugged him and beat him to death with his bare hands.
Following the murder, he transported the body back to his grandmother's house in a suitcase before dismembering it.
In May 1991, Dahmer also met Tony Hughes at the bar. Because Hughes was deaf, Dahmer wrote him a note offering him $50 if he agreed to go back to his apartment and pose for photographs.
At the Oxford Apartments, Dahmer drugged him, strangled him to death, and dismembered his body.
Other victims that went missing from the club include Raymond Lamont Smith (Ricky Beeks) and Richard Guerrero. He also met 14-year-old Jamie Doxtator at a bus stop outside the bar.
