This is the location where Stringer Bell and Omar Little held a "peace meeting" in The Wire.

The pair met beside a fountain at Market Place in the downtown area of Baltimore.

Eastside drug lord Proposition Joe organizes the "parlay," which takes place in Episode 10 of Season 1.

As they walk around the fountain, Stringer and Omar talk about a potential truce.

At the time, Stringer was hoping to bide some time and lure Omar into a false sense of security.

In the previous episode, Omar had nearly killed Stringer's partner, Avon Barksdale, outside Orlando's strip club.

However, Avon was saved when his enforcer, Wee-Bey Brice, arrived and injured Omar.

Fearing Omar's next attempt might be successful, the Barksdale organization decides to offer him a fake peace settlement.

The meeting comes to an end after Stringer agrees to pay Omar's $5,000 "retirement fee."

However, Omar is suspicious of Stringer's willingness to pay the money.

He reasons that Stringer would have refused to pay him anything if he was truly serious about a truce.

Realizing he needs to lie low for a while and recover from his injuries, he gets on a bus and moves to New York.
