The police pursued Weldon on May 27th, 2018, after he refused to pull over for a broken tail light. When he crashed into a patrol car, the officers wrestled him to the ground and subdued him.
Following the arrest, the officers discovered a woman bound in the passenger seat of his car. The woman in question said that Weldon had raped her and held her captive for a month.
While Weldon was in custody, his mother called the police and reported that there was a foul odor emanating from her house on Page Boulevard. During a subsequent search of the property, investigators discovered the graves of three women in the backyard.
The victims were America Lyden (34), Ernestine Ryans (47), and Kayla Escalante (26).
Weldon is also believed to be responsible for eight rapes that occurred between June 2017 and May 2018.
In September 2021, he pleaded guilty to three counts of first-degree murder and was sentenced to three consecutive life sentences.
