This is Tina Satchwell's former house.

Satchwell (top left) disappeared from her home on Monday, March 20th, 2017. The 44-year-old was last seen in public the previous day, when she visited a car boot sale in Carrigtwohill with her husband, Richard Satchwell (below left).

Richard claimed that Tina was "gone" by the time he returned home from a trip to a supermarket in the nearby town of Dungarvan, Waterford.

He did not report her missing until March 24th, which was four days after her disappearance.

Richard said that his wife was troubled and that she may have taken €26,000 in cash before relocating to the United Kingdom. However, her passport and identification were still in the house, and the Irish police were unable to find any evidence that she had traveled by plane or ferry.

The authorities began to suspect foul play after they learned that Tina had not used her phone or accessed her bank account since the day that she went missing. Multiple CCTV cameras in Youghal also failed to capture her movements.

In the months that followed, Richard made several appearances on radio and television shows. During his interviews, he appealed for information about his wife's whereabouts and repeatedly denied any involvement in her disappearance.

On one occasion, he publicly stated that he would be willing to take a lie detector test. However, he backed out of doing so during an appearance on Cork's Red FM radio station.

Richard was arrested on suspicion of Tina's murder on October 10th, 2023.

During a search of the premises, investigators discovered her skeletal remains underneath a thick layer of concrete below the stairwell.

3 Grattan Street Youghal — This Google Street View image of 3 Grattan Street was captured in August 2019—roughly two years after Satchwell's murder. Note that Google Maps identifies the property as 3 Catherine Street. The Irish police started searching this house on October 10th, 2023, using drills, jack hammers, and a cadaver dog. Satchwell's remains were found inside a hidden compartment in a concrete floor that lay beyond a walled-up section beneath the staircase. The identity of the body was confirmed using dental records.

Richard was charged with his wife's murder on October 13th, 2023. In response, he said, "Guilty or not guilty. Guilty."

On May 30th, 2025, he was found guilty of murder. Five days later, he was sentenced to life in prison.
