The location where Ted Bundy was photographed in handcuffs
Photo Location in Tallahassee, Florida
This is the exact location where Ted Bundy was photographed smiling in handcuffs.
It is situated on the southwestern corner of South Calhoun Street and East Jefferson Street in Tallahassee, Florida.
The photo was taken on Monday, August 7th, 1978, while he was being transported from the Leon County Courthouse back to his cell at Leon County Jail.
At the time, the serial killer was facing trial for the Chi Omega sorority house murders.
The venue was later moved to Miami after a judge ruled that the extensive media coverage in Tallahassee might damage Bundy's chances of a fair trial.
Although it may appear as though Bundy is defiantly posing with an arrogant smile, the truth is that this image was snapped while he was in the process of calling out to a reporter.
Note that the two buildings in the background (labeled A and B above) no longer exist, as they were torn down at some point after March 2011.
