"The Real Housewives" TV star Teddi Mellencamp owned the property. Jackson, who was on a four-day trip to California, had been renting it via Airbnb.

The house is situated in the Hollywood Hills. The owners have blurred the property on Google Street View. 2033 Hercules Drive was built in 1978. It has five bedrooms and is roughly 3,950 square feet in size. It was last sold for $2.7 million in August 2020, roughly eight months after the shooting.

On February 18th, 2020, Jackson and his friend, Michael Durodola (Mike Dee), uploaded Instagram photographs of themselves posing beside the swimming pool and a Range Rover in the driveway.

The rapper also shared a picture of a package that had been sent to him by fashion designer Mike Amiri.

Both the package and the image of the Range Rover showed the address of the house.

The day before the shooting, Pop Smoke and his friend, Mike Dee, flaunted their money on Instagram.

The following morning, at around 4 a.m., four men entered the residence through a balcony door at the back. At the time, Jackson was inside the house with a woman named Amelia Rose.

When the intruders entered via the door, one of them reportedly held a gun to Rose's head and told her to be quiet. Meanwhile, the other men ran to the bathroom, where they encountered the rapper and ordered him to hand over his jewelry.

It is believed that Jackson complied at first. However, he put up a fight when they attempted to steal an expensive Rolex.

During the struggle, he was pistol-whipped and shot three times.

After the men fled the scene, the police were called, and Jackson was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

He was only 20 years old.

One adult and three juveniles were eventually arrested and charged with the crime.

The adult was named as 19-year-old Corey Walker.

In 2025, Walker agreed to plead guilty to one count of voluntary manslaughter and two counts of robbery. He was later sentenced to 29 years in prison.

The other three suspects reached similar plea agreements that were handled via the juvenile system.

The LAPD arrived at the address within six minutes of receiving the 911 call.

Video footage showed Pop Smoke being wheeled out to an ambulance while paramedics performed CPR.

Although a friend of the rapper's was arrested at the scene, he was released when the police determined that he wasn't involved in the shooting.

When Jackson was transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Beverly Boulevard, doctors at the hospital attempted to save his life by opening the left side of his chest and removing the bullets. However, their efforts ultimately failed, and he was pronounced dead shortly afterwards at 5.12 a.m.

The rapper died in the exact same hospital where Biggie Smalls and River Phoenix passed away.

Amelia Rose was in the bedroom when the intruders entered through the balcony door. When one of the men saw her, he reportedly pointed a gun at her and said, "Shut up, or I will kill you."

At that point, the other men continued towards the bathroom, where they located Jackson.

Rose said that the rapper reacted in surprise and shouted, "What?!"

Following a brief struggle, one of the men shot Jackson. Although he managed to get up and run downstairs, the intruders followed suit and shot him again.

When the shooting happened, Rose believed that the men were also going to kill her and that she would never get to see her mother again.

Once she was confident that the intruders had left, she went downstairs and found the rapper lying on the floor.

In a statement on her Instagram page, Rose told her followers that she was so depressed following the incident that she was unable to stop herself from crying.

She also expressed her belief that Pop Smoke's friend, Mike Dee, was somehow involved in the robbery, as she felt that he had been acting nervously and texting someone that night.

Despite Rose's claims, the police do not believe that Mike Dee was involved.
