Lucas is best friends with Mike, Dustin, and Will.

At the start of the series, he is suspicious of Eleven and advises Mike not to help her. He also makes it clear that he doesn't want her to be a part of their friend group.

However, Lucas eventually warms to Eleven after he realizes that her psychokinetic abilities are real and that she can help them find their friend Will, who mysteriously disappeared in Episode 1.
