Orlando Anderson: Death Location

This is the location where Orlando Anderson was shot dead.

It is situated on the corner of Alondra Avenue and South Oleander Avenue in the Compton neighborhood of Los Angeles.

At the time of the shooting, this was the home of Rob's Car Wash. However, the property was demolished at some point between 2018 and 2019 to make way for the new Compton High School.

Anderson is the prime suspect in the murder of Tupac Shakur. It is believed that the Crips gang member may have shot the rapper in revenge for an altercation that occurred earlier that evening.

Surveillance footage from the MGM Grand showed Shakur and his entourage attacking Anderson shortly after a boxing match between Mike Tyson and Bruce Seldon.

This has led to speculation that the Southside Crips member rounded up his fellow gang members and retaliated.

Although he denied that he had any involvement in the rapper's death, he was formally named as a suspect in an affidavit by the Compton Police Department.

Furthermore, Anderson's uncle, Duane "Keffe D" Davis, made several interviews in which he claimed that he was present when his nephew opened fire on Shakur.

Roughly 16 months after the incident in Las Vegas, Anderson lost his life in a gang-related shootout between two rival Crips factions.

On May 29th, 1998, Anderson and two other men were fatally wounded at Rob's Car Wash. It is believed that the dispute occurred over an unpaid drug debt.

Orlando Anderson (23), Michael Stone (41), and Jerry Stone (24) were all killed during the shootout.

A fourth man named Michael Reed Dorrough was also seriously injured. However, he survived and was later sentenced to three life terms in prison.

Anderson pulled into the car wash after he spotted Jerry Stone, who owed him money at the time. Following a brief argument, the pair reportedly opened fire on each other.

This led to a gun battle between the two sides.

On one side, there were Anderson and his passenger, Michael Reed Dorrough. On the other side were Jerry Stone and his uncle, Michael Stone.

Although Dorrough was the only man who survived the encounter, his injuries were so serious that he crashed his vehicle while attempting to flee the crime scene.

In 1999, Dorrough was sentenced to three life terms without the possibility of parole.
