He had arrived at the hotel shortly before gunmen opened fire on his vehicle.
Three other people were also injured in the attack.
Earlier that night, Foolio was celebrating his 26th birthday at a pool party at a local AirBnB. However, the authorities shut the party down and ordered him to leave after his guests exceeded Tampa's vacation rental occupancy limits.
After the party shut down, it appears as though the rapper moved to this Holiday Inn on East Fowler Avenue.
