The hotel where Julio Foolio was killed

This is the hotel parking lot where Julio Foolio was killed.

It is located at 3751 East Fowler Avenue in Tampa, Florida.

The rapper, whose real name was Charles Jones, was shot dead in an apparent ambush at approximately 4:40 a.m. on June 23, 2024.

Earlier that night, Foolio was celebrating his 26th birthday at a pool party at a nearby Airbnb. However, the authorities shut the party down and ordered him to leave after his guests exceeded Tampa's vacation rental occupancy limits.

Consequently, the rapper moved to the Home2 Suites hotel on East Fowler Avenue.

A group of men opened fire on his vehicle shortly after he arrived at the hotel. The cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds to the torso.

Three others were also injured in the attack.

The police believe Foolio was a key member of 6 Block, a gang that has been engaged in a feud with two allied gangs known as 1200 and ATK (Ace's Top Killers).

Investigators have attributed dozens of murders to the conflict.

Five alleged gang members named Sean Gathright, Rashad Murphy, Davion Murphy, Isaiah Chance, and Alicia Andrews were arrested in connection with Foolio's death.

Prosecutors believe Gathright and the two Murphy cousins carried out the killing, while Chance and Andrews fed them information and served as lookouts.

Andrews was charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder. However, a jury acquitted her of the conspiracy charge and found her guilty of the lesser offense of manslaughter.

Andrews is scheduled to be sentenced on December 8, 2025. She faces a maximum of 15 years in state prison.

Her four co-defendants are still awaiting their separate trials.
