This is the house where Anton Yelchin died.

It is located at 3866 Berry Drive in Studio City, California.

In June 2016, the actor was fatally crushed by his SUV in the driveway.

Yelchin was best known for his role as Lieutenant Pavel Chekov in Star Trek (2009), Star Trek Into Darkness (2013), and Star Trek Beyond (2016). He also portrayed Kyle Reese in Terminator Salvation (2009) and Pat in Green Room (2015).

On June 18, 2016, the actor parked his 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee on the steep driveway and walked down to check his mail or the gate.

Yelchin's SUV had a non-intuitive electronic gear shifter design that made it difficult to determine if the vehicle was in Park (P) or Neutral (N).

It is believed that the actor thought he had parked the vehicle.

As he stood near the bottom of the driveway, the SUV rolled backward down the incline and pinned him against the gate and brick pillar.

Gate
The force of the impact bent the security gate.

Yelchin's body was discovered at approximately 1 a.m. the following morning. His bandmates from The Hammerheads found him pinned against the gate after he failed to show up for a rehearsal.

The coroner determined that the 27-year-old died from blunt traumatic asphyxia, which is caused by an intense compression of the chest cavity.

His SUV weighed 4,875 lbs (2,211 kg), which is more than two tons. The steep incline allowed the vehicle to accelerate rapidly. Aside from the sound of its tires rolling against the pavement, it would have moved silently.

On a 15-degree slope, a vehicle in neutral can reach speeds of more than 10 mph (16 km/h) in 2-3 seconds.

Following the impact, the pressure on his chest disrupted his blood flow and prevented him from breathing. The coroner estimated that he died within a minute.

Two months after his death, Yelchin's parents filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), which owns the Jeep brand.

Although the company had issued a recall for the model, the software update that fixed the design flaw did not become available until the week of Yelchin's death.

In March 2018, the parties reached an out-of-court settlement.

Yelchin's grave
Yelchin is buried in the Hollywood Forever Cemetery at 6000 Santa Monica Boulevard. His grave is in Section 8 (Garden of Legends) in Lot 8485. In October 2017, a bronze statue of the actor was unveiled at the site in a "Life Celebration" ceremony. A direct link to the coordinates on Google Maps is available below.
