Ted Bundy's Sheridan Avenue address

In May 1951, Ted Bundy, his mother, Louise, and his adoptive father, Johnnie, moved into this house at 1620 South Sheridan Avenue in the Hilltop Neighborhood of Tacoma, Washington.

This was the Bundy family's first home. When they got the keys to this property, Ted was just four years old.

Previously, Ted and his mother had lived at his great-uncle's place on South Alder Street.

Louise and Johnnie started living in this four-bedroom house shortly after they got married. It was around this time that "Ted Nelson" became formally known as "Ted Bundy."

While they were living at this address, Louise gave birth to Ted's half-sister, Linda.

Roughly two years later, the family left Sheridan Avenue and moved to 658 North Skyline Drive, which ultimately became Ted's main childhood home.

During an interview with author Stephen G. Michaud, Bundy recalled his time on Sheridan Street:

"Our house was on Sheridan Street in Tacoma. It was the second house from the corner, on the west side of the street. We moved there, I would guess, in about 1951. My boyhood on Sheridan Street was not an unpleasant one. I remember those days of roaming with my friends. The adventure, the exploration. Those were the days of frog hunting and marble playing."

A popular social media post by podcast host and stand-up comedian Brendan Schaub identifies the house on the corner as being Bundy's former home.

However, this is incorrect, as it is actually the second house from the corner.
