The location where Nipsey Hussle was killed

This is the strip mall where Nipsey Hussle was murdered.

It is located at 3416 West Slauson Avenue in Los Angeles, California.

On March 31st, 2019, the rapper, whose real name was Airmiess Asghedom, was shot multiple times in this parking lot in Dorset Village.

At the time of the shooting, the mall was home to his clothing store, Marathon Clothing.

That afternoon, at around 3.20 p.m., Hussle was talking to three men outside his store when a 29-year-old gunman named Eric Holder walked over to the group and opened fire.

Surveillance footage showed that Holder launched a sustained attack on the rapper that lasted for nearly 30 seconds.

Hussle was shot ten times and received gunshot wounds to his back, abdomen, and chest. The other two men were also injured in the attack.

Afterwards, Holder fled the scene and ran to a nearby alley, which connects with West 58th Place on the southern side of the mall.

Holder ran down the alley and jumped into the passenger side of a waiting Chevrolet Cruze. The authorities believe that the woman behind the wheel of the car was unaware that a murder was going to take place.

Following the shooting, Hussle was brought to the California Hospital Medical Center on Grand Avenue, where he was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m.

He was 33 years old.

On May 9th, 2019, Holder was charged with Hussle's murder.

A witness said that the shooting took place exactly six minutes after Hussle implied that Holder had snitched on a local street gang called the Rollin' 60s Neighborhood Crips.

Prosecutors believe that Holder was so enraged by Hussle's implication that he left and then returned to the lot with two handguns and immediately opened fire.

In July 2022, Holder was found guilty of first-degree murder. Seven months later, he was sentenced to 60 years in prison.
