The pizza parlor where Melissa Smith was last seen
On October 18th, 1974, serial killer Ted Bundy abducted 17-year-old Melissa Smith shortly after she left this restaurant in Midvale, Utah.
Nine days later, two deer hunters discovered her remains on a hillside in Summit Park.
Back in 1974, this was the address of a pizza parlor called Pepperoni Pizza.
In more recent times, it was home to Joe Morley's BBQ. However, Morley's closed its doors in 2021 after the strip mall was sold to a developer, who subsequently tore it down.
That night, Melissa was supposed to be sleeping over at a friend's house. However, those plans fell through after her friend failed to answer the phone. After realizing that she had been stood up, she decided to leave the parlor and walk back to her home on Fern Drive.
Sadly, she never made it that far. At some point during her journey, Bundy managed to intercept the 17-year-old and snatch her off the street.
