Perry carried out extensive renovations before he started living at this address. He rented a three-bed home in Beverly Hills for more than a year while the work was being completed.

On the afternoon of October 28th, 2023, Perry's personal assistant found him unresponsive in his hot tub in the backyard.

His assistant lifted his head above the water, pulled him to the side of the tub, and called 911.

By the time emergency responders arrived, it was too late, as an initial medical assessment determined he was already deceased.

He was officially pronounced dead at the scene at 4.17 p.m.

Perry had a well-publicized history of addiction. Although no illegal drugs were found inside the residence and an initial toxicology test ruled out fentanyl and methamphetamine, a post-mortem examination concluded that he had died due to the "acute effects of ketamine."

Drowning, coronary artery disease, and the effects of buprenorphine were also listed as contributing factors.

A spokesperson for the LA Medical Examiner said that the actor had been receiving small doses of ketamine for anxiety and depression. In larger amounts, the anesthetic can cause immobilization and detachment from reality.

In August 2024, the authorities indicted five people for their involvement in the distribution of ketamine that led to Perry's death.

Those indicted were Perry's former assistant Kenneth Iwamasa, film director Erik Fleming, alleged "Ketamine Queen" Jasveen Sangha, Dr. Salvador Plasencia, and Dr. Mark Chavez.

Suspects — Five people were charged in relation to his death.

All five have agreed to plead guilty to the charges.
