In June 1988, 25-year-old Mary Pewitt was stabbed 30 times at this house on South 10th Street in Comanche.
The young mother's murder remains unsolved to this day.

Harold's Club
Harold's Club was located at 108 West Oak Main Avenue in Comanche.
This Google Street View image of the old, dilapidated building was taken in July 2013. Since then, the property has been torn down.
Pewitt had only been working at Harold's for 13 days before her murder.
Family members said that working as a barmaid was not Pewitt's first choice. Previously, she had worked at a nursing home near her house. However, she had to quit that job after one of the residents accidentally fell on her and seriously injured her back.
The back injury and the subsequent operations made it difficult for her to find work. As a result, she was struggling to make ends meet.
