The hotel from Scarface (1983)

This is the hotel from Scarface (1983), which was used during the filming of the infamous chainsaw scene.

It is located at 728 Ocean Drive in Miami Beach, Florida.

These days, the building is home to a CVS store.

Previously, it was a Johnny Rockets franchise.

At the start of the film, Tony Montana and his crew visit the Sunray Hotel to purchase drugs from a Colombian gang.

Tony and Angel quickly learn that the meeting is a setup. Instead of doing business, the dealers intend to steal their money.

The Colombians try to persuade them to give up the cash by threatening them with a chainsaw. Tony, however, stubbornly refuses to give in to their demands.

To set an example, the gang chains Angel to a shower railing and kills him with the chainsaw.

While this is unfolding, Tony's friend, Manny, is busy flirting with a passing blonde woman.

When the woman leaves, Manny finally notices that the 15 minutes are up.

After going up the exterior stairway, Manny puts his ear to the door and hears the chainsaw.

Realizing that his friends are in trouble, he forces his way inside and opens fire on the Colombians.

Tony's crew eventually gains the upper hand in the ensuing gunfight. Once the Colombians have been killed, they take the drugs and flee the scene.
