On May 5th, 1975, serial killer Ted Bundy abducted 12-year-old Lynette Culver from her school in Pocatello, Idaho.
Shortly afterwards, he murdered her at this hotel on Bench Road.

Roughly fifteen months later, her remains were found among the bodies of three other sex workers on Gilgo Beach.

Hartnell survived the attack. Shepard succumbed to her wounds two days later.

The area in question has been nicknamed "the Texas Killing Fields."
