Roughly fifteen months later, her remains were found among the bodies of three other sex workers on Gilgo Beach.

Melissa is believed to be a victim of the Long Island serial killer.

The area in question has been nicknamed "the Texas Killing Fields."

On one occasion, Yates buried one of his victims in the backyard while his wife was sleeping.
