In October 2017, a gunman named Stephen Paddock opened fire on an outdoor music festival from the Mandalay Bay hotel.
60 people lost their lives in the attack.

Mandalay Bay hotel
The Mandalay Bay hotel is situated at 3950 Las Vegas Boulevard South.
One month before the shooting, Paddock stayed at the hotel with his girlfriend, Marilou Danley.
When investigators spoke to Danley, she recalled that he was acting strangely and appeared to be scoping out Las Vegas Village from different angles of their room.
On September 25th, 2017, Paddock arrived at Madalay Bay again. However, on this occasion, he booked into Room 135 on the 32nd floor by himself.
Four days later, on September 29th, he also booked the adjoining suite in Room 134.
During his stay, he made multiple trips to his home in Mesquite to stock up on weapons and bring them back in suitcases.
Paddock's house
Paddock's house was situated at 1372 Babbling Brook Court in Mesquite, Nevada.
Cellphone records indicate that he returned to this address multiple times during his stay at the hotel.
It would have taken him roughly three hours to make a round trip between the two locations.
